Here is the analytique, combination of drawings, that I had to develop for my conceptual studio class. The basic idea was to take the definition or the concept of what a door and window are and create our own windows and doors. (The lower right side was my window which is shown in the model below the drawing. And then under that is the door which is mainly on the left side of the drawing.)
The window was based on the concept of human manipulation. Each viewer has a different experience with a view from a window and even with the window itself. So I wanted to create a window in which a viewer could take with them and they could place it where ever they wanted. Then they would physically have to open the window by spreading the triangular points apart.
The door was also based on human interaction and manipulation. With the door the viewer must push and pull. The left side of the door is meant to be pulled towards the viewer while the right side of the door is meant to be pushed away from the viewer. Therefore creating a strip of space for the viewer to squeeze through. Another element to the door was to create is out of cement but then have it be hallow to create the look of density and mass but then the door would actually be light, tricking the viewer.
