Kitchen Detail - Hand Draft

This is a project from Fall Term for Detailing. We were given a space and had to create a kitchen using pre-manufactured cabinets. We then had to detail and spec our design.

Fall Term Final Project

This is my Retail project from Fall Term which is a flagship boutique for Abigail Lorick (http://www.loricknewyork.com/). These are my plans, sections and elevation which were completed using AutoCAD, Photoshop and Illustrator.

Fall Term Final Project

Here is my final project from Fall Term. We had to design a retail space for a designer that did not currently have a flagship store. I chose to design a space for Abigail Lorick (http://www.loricknewyork.com/) and this is the result. These are perspectives done of the space using 3D Max and Photoshop.

labyrinth analytique

This is my most recent project. For conceptual studio we had to create a labyrinth, the basis of the labyrinth is one pathway in and one pathway out. Then there is also a point of reflection or pause somewhere. So I created a very different labyrinth then the typical maze-like structure. The viewer walks up a hill and sees a monumental swirl-like concrete structure which they would proceed to walk up to the top. When the reached the top they would then slid down a fireman like pole which would take them underground. Then they would be underground on a old-fashioned rickety structure which is created by different ramps which would eventually lead them out into the bottom of the spiral structure, therefore bringing the viewer back to where they began. It's kind of confusing...but isn't it suppose to be?

Door/Window Analytique

Here is the analytique, combination of drawings, that I had to develop for my conceptual studio class. The basic idea was to take the definition or the concept of what a door and window are and create our own windows and doors. (The lower right side was my window which is shown in the model below the drawing. And then under that is the door which is mainly on the left side of the drawing.)

The window was based on the concept of human manipulation. Each viewer has a different experience with a view from a window and even with the window itself. So I wanted to create a window in which a viewer could take with them and they could place it where ever they wanted. Then they would physically have to open the window by spreading the triangular points apart.

The door was also based on human interaction and manipulation. With the door the viewer must push and pull. The left side of the door is meant to be pulled towards the viewer while the right side of the door is meant to be pushed away from the viewer. Therefore creating a strip of space for the viewer to squeeze through. Another element to the door was to create is out of cement but then have it be hallow to create the look of density and mass but then the door would actually be light, tricking the viewer.

Installtions

So for one of my classes we must come up with an installation piece each week which can be taxing but it also makes it so you don't have to think as hard. It is unlike any other class I've taken, very out there, it really pushes you to think outside of the box. Our teacher is great too, although very eccentric she really helps to push you forward. So for the last one I decided to suspend candles and watch the wax drip...simple but nice..time based since our class is called space/time. It actually turned out well, I got some great pictures from it. Here it is:

I didn't even photoshop the pictures.
